Background and Credentials

Dr. Shane Shafi, DMD, MS, is a skilled and compassionate periodontist who provides specialized periodontal and dental implant care at Smart Dental. He is committed to helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles through personalized treatment, clear communication, and a comfortable approach to care.

Dr. Shafi earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He then received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry, where he also completed his periodontal residency and advanced specialty training.

Throughout his training and clinical career, Dr. Shafi has gained extensive experience managing complex periodontal and dental implant cases, giving him the experience necessary to develop carefully planned treatment options for patients with a wide range of needs.

Outside the office, Dr. Shafi enjoys skiing, playing golf, and spending time with his family. His friendly personality and dedication to his patients make him a valued member of the Smart Dental team.
